Yann Baillieu, a washed up hack for La Voix du Nord, the Lille based provincial newspaper is serendipitously propelled into a medieval mystery of epic proportions when he visits Metz with his glamorous new associate Lily Chevalier and discovers his image on a 15th century carved wooden door. Their quantum consciousness odyssey then takes them on a journey across France in a heroic effort to solve the puzzle that is the d'Arc Conspiracy. Unexpectedly they find that they are personally involved as their frightening flashbacks increase in both intensity and duration which accelerates them towards a deadly conclusion. Their everyday reality is further shattered by experiencing other paranormal phenomena that appear to be linked to the enigma that surrounds the true identity of Jehanne d'Arc, La pucelle d'Orleans.
