A torrent of counterfeit money is flooding into the United States, creating panic in financial markets and threatening to crash the global economy. The fake currency is so perfect that it's indistinguishable from real dollars. The FBI and the Secret Service set up a joint task force to hunt down the criminals behind the counterfeiting plot. Heading up the investigation is John (J.T.) Ryan and Erin Welch. Their only lead comes from an FBI agent in Rome: the name Sigma. With not much else to go on, Ryan goes to Italy. There he begins to uncover a secret cabal of criminals. The shadowy group, known as the Alliance, is determined to dominate the world's currency markets. And the conspiracy will stop at nothing, including murder, to accomplish their goal. Barely surviving several attempts on their lives, Ryan and Erin sift through a harrowing maze of death and deception, as they follow the leads from Rome to Mexico City, and then on to Moscow.
